learn, grow, and experience the outdoors
Thousand Pines Outdoor Science School is located in the mountain community of Crestline, in the San Bernardino Mountains. Thousand Pines offers your students an outdoor classroom — promoting an understanding of the natural world through hands-on experiences. Students will explore and experience the natural world at Thousand Pines on numerous hikes throughout the week practicing observation, collaboration and drawing conclusions. Students focus on subjects including Botany, Ecology, Geology, Astronomy, and Sustainability.
Students are also challenged by engaging in a variety of outdoor recreational activities including archery, rock climbing, wilderness survival, a night hike, and team building exercises. These are designed to help students achieve personal growth through their sense of accomplishment and increased self-confidence. Students are guided through their experience by trained outdoor education staff members where direct experience and observation provide unique learning opportunities.
